PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year!  I am very excited to be back at Stanley High School for another year as Principal.  I cannot think of a better school to work at than right here at Stanley High.  The new school year is here and the entire Staff of Stanley High is looking forward to sharing their love for teaching and learning with you and your children.

Stanley High continues to stay focused on high standards and student productivity at the proficient levels.  We believe all children have the ability to learn, we encourage all children to work to their fullest potential and we expect their personal best at all times.  It takes a partnership between home and school to help students reach their maximum potential in academics, character, and attitudes.  Students learn many life skills that are modeled and practiced by parents, families, community and staff.  Academic success and a literate life style, is influenced by what is expected at home as well as at school.  Help us achieve our goals for your children, together we can continue to make a difference.

We need to keep our school learning environment safe, clean and beautiful by taking pride in our surroundings.  Please help us by volunteering your time to help out in the classrooms and during school events.  We will have many projects and activities throughout the school year where we invite your participation.  It’s important for your child to see you involved in his/her education both in the classroom and out.

Our breakfast program continues this year, with more students than ever dropping in for juice, toast, cereal bars and cheese.  This program is free for all students, and is available in the cafeteria beginning at 8 am.  Should you like to donate food items, or even a cash donation to this program, please contact the school at 367-7690.

If you drive children to school, please remember to use extreme caution when driving on school grounds.  For safety reasons, we ask that you drop off your children in the lower parking lot, as this area is larger and easier to maneuver.

You will also find that during school hours all doors will be locked from the outside, with the exception of the main entrance.  All visitors must sign in at the main office.

Communication is so important, therefore, we will continue to send talk mail messages home, and from time to time newsletters.  I also encourage you to take a look at your children’s school agendas, as these agendas give a good overview our policies.

As always, I encourage you to phone the school with any questions or concerns.  Please do not feel that you have to wait until report cards are issued to contact the school or the teacher.

I look forward to working with you this school year.
